One Object: Record a solo performance (duration under ten minutes) using only one microphone, one connecting cable, one recording device, and one non-traditional instrument. No overdubs, effects, or edits.
One Object was collaboratively conceived and recorded by members of the I Hate Music forum. The initial idea of a “restricted setup challenge” was proposed by Renaud Dupont. This was discussed and refined until the aforementioned rules were agreed upon. All submissions were accepted regardless of compliance with the rules and were compiled by Steven Flato.
